“Allow your passion to become your purpose, and it will one day become your profession.”
-Gabrielle Bernstein
In 2015, Nicole Rojas began volunteering with the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) and Tusk Task Force to advocate for Illinois legislation to ban the sale and trade of elephant ivory and rhino horn. The bill was passed after three years of advocacy and meetings with legislators. Shortly thereafter, Nicole assisted HSUS at the state level in enacting comprehensive legislation in Illinois that bans the sale and trade of wildlife parts from all endangered species in perpetuity.
Nicole established Wild For Change in 2018 with the mission of raising awareness of nature’s intrinsic value for all life on Earth and inspiring action to safeguard nature and animals.
Wild For Change uses a multi-faceted approach to raise awareness. Since its inception, Wild For Change has advocated for legislation that supports nature and animals at both the state and federal levels. Through social media and the Wild For Change blog, the organization promotes awareness of nature's essential role in our lives. The Wild For Change podcast spotlights individuals and organizations making a positive impact on animals and the environment. Nicole also speaks publicly to rekindle our relationship with nature, highlighting its inherent worth and exploring ways to restore our bond with the natural world. Because of her deep love of nature, Nicole will begin a certification to become a forest bathing guide, sharing the gifts of wisdom, inspiration, beauty, and peace that nature provides with others.
Wild For Change envisions a world where all animals and nature are valued and respected, with a global understanding of nature's role in our lives, thereby generating new collective strategies to protect and preserve our greatest asset: planet Earth.
